OSSEO - Wayne Arthur Coey, 67, of Osseo died Monday, August 14, 2006, at his home while in the care of his family and St. Joseph?s Hospice.

Wayne was born October 12, 1938, in Bruce, Wis., to Manley and Bernice (Richardson) Coey Sr. Wayne married Susan Ann Scheit on November 21, 1964, in Waukegan, Ill. Wayne worked in the auto body repair business with his brother and then for several auto dealers in the Racine area. He retired from Racine Casting as a heavy mechanic in 1991, and moved to Osseo. In his retirement, Wayne enjoyed bartending at R&R Sports Bar and Bloom?s Country Inn. He had a talent for telling stories and will be remembered for them.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Susan; children, Rayne (Wayne) Thieme of Racine, Shannon (Iris) Coey of Racine, Rodney (Shelly) Coey of Fairchild and Penny (Dale) Funk of Owen; nine grandchildren, Ryan and Christopher Thieme, Randy, Krista, Mitchell, Melissa and Michael Coey, Cody and Megan Funk; two brothers, Manley Coey Jr. and Melvin (Jane) Coey of Racine; numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Manley and Bernice; brothers, Morris and Marlow; sister, Bonnie Gehring; grandson, Allan Deno Coey; and his first wife, Phyllis.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 19, 2006, at Osseo Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. Lewis Thompson officiating.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Schiefelbein Funeral Home in Osseo, and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. He was buried Levis Cemetery in Levis, Jackson County, Wisconsin. Susan Ann SCHEIT and Wayne Arthur COEY had the following children:
