He was married to Velma Zazle TIPTON on 13 Dec 1912 in Yankton, South Dakota. Velma Zazle TIPTON was born on 23 Jan 1897 in Whiting, Monona County, Iowa. She died on 13 Aug 1954 in Sioux City, Woodbury County, Iowa. She was buried on 16 Aug 1954 in Walthill, Thurston County, Nebraska.
